Questions and answers

What is Round Suarwood Table Spider Base made of?
Round Suarwood Table Spider Base is a single-slab live-edge dining table cut from one suarwood (Albizia saman) tree, sourced from agroforestry plantations on Java. The blade is about 76 cm thick and finished with a hard-wax oil that brings out the contrast between the dark heartwood and the cream sapwood band along the natural edge.
What sizes does Round Suarwood Table Spider Base come in?
Round Suarwood Table Spider Base comes in 4 standard lengths from 120 cm to 150 cm, all with a depth of about 90-100 cm and a height of 77 cm. Each length is priced separately. Custom lengths up to 10 metres are possible on request — lead time is the same.
What base / leg styles are available?
Three styles: a black powder-coated steel spider leg ("spinpoot") for a modern industrial look, a sculpted suarwood root pedestal ("wortelpoot") matching the tabletop for a fully organic single-material silhouette, and on request a single-piece pedestal carved from the same trunk as the slab. See our /atelier/glossary for what each base looks like and weighs.
How do I care for a suarwood live-edge table?
Wipe spills promptly (water rings can show on freshly oiled wood), use coasters under hot pans, and re-oil with a clear hard-wax oil twice a year — once in spring, once in autumn. Avoid placing the table directly above an underfloor heating spot. Sunlight is fine; the wood will deepen its patina rather than fade. We include a small bottle of finishing oil with every table.
What is the lead time and how do I pay?
Lead time is 8-12 weeks from order confirmation, including shipping from Java to our Hengelo showroom and final inspection before delivery. We invoice 100% upfront via bank transfer (IBAN on the invoice) since every table is reserved or made for you specifically. Delivery to the EU is by furniture courier with two-person indoor placement.
