Questions and answers

What is Teak Horse made of?
Teak Horse is hand-carved from a single block of solid teak (Tectona grandis) by master craftsmen on Java, Indonesia. The wood is air-dried to about 12% moisture before carving so the finished piece stays dimensionally stable in a European interior. No glue, no veneer, no inlay — one tree, one sculpture.
How much does Teak Horse weigh and how is it delivered?
Teak Horse weighs approximately 80 kg. We deliver by specialised furniture courier across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Luxembourg, with two-person handling and indoor placement on request. Larger pieces (over 100 kg) ship on a wooden pallet with strapping; we collect the pallet on the same visit.
Can Teak Horse be placed outdoors in a garden?
Yes. Teak's natural oil content makes it one of the few woods that thrives outdoors without preservatives. Left untreated outside it will silver to a soft grey patina over 6-12 months. If you prefer to keep the warm honey colour, oil it twice a year with a clear teak oil. Bring it under a covered terrace during the worst of winter only if you want to preserve a fresh-from-the-atelier finish.
What is the lead time for Teak Horse?
Teak Horse is one-of-a-kind and currently in our Hengelo showroom (or in-transit from Java). Lead time after order confirmation is typically 2-4 weeks for delivery within the Netherlands, 3-5 weeks for the rest of the EU.
How do I pay for Teak Horse?
We invoice 100% upfront via bank transfer (IBAN included on the invoice) since every piece is made or reserved specifically for you and cannot be returned. After payment is confirmed your order goes into the atelier queue. Trade clients with an approved B2B account can request 14-day payment terms.
